The other Beethoven symphonies are great, too. I like to put my feet up, relax, and listen to the 6th.

My grandmother turned me on to classical music over 40 years ago. She worked for the government during WWI (yes I, not II) and told me stories of actually seeing Rachmaninoff in concert in like 1919.

Today, listening to Live At The Regal. RIP B B King.

I've been in a progressive rock phase for 40 years. I recently discovered Porcupine Tree and it's front man, Steven Wilson. Really enjoying all of this.

A mix of artists lately. 311, Linkin Park, Sublime, Soundgarden, MXPX, and Primus. Lots of Primus. Looking forward to going to see MXPX in July and Primus in Sept. Will both be good shows. Just missed going to see 311 last month in Scottsdale, had to be in Cali for my in-Laws.

When I heard Amy Winehouse's first album, I tuned her out--I just didn't care for the songs and her phrasing. However, I got her second album recently, Back to Black, and am really enjoying it. It seems so much more mature than I remember her first album being.

Side from the tiny collection of classical LPs I had acquired by my mid 20s, my first real venture into real classical (in this case technically baroque) music was borrowing a beautiful set of 7 LPs from the local library. Trevor Pinnock and the English Concert playing the Bach harpsichord concertos for 1, 2 , 3 and 4 harpsichords in the authentic style. I made tapes as I was pretty broke and I played them for years. Later I was quick to acquire the CDs.

By now I have a huge collection of classical and baroque music on CD - hundreds and hundreds of discs - but this "first love" keeps me coming back. I bought a second set for the car.

Our band like to slip an occasional cover into our setlists....we're learning this one so I'm listening to it right now and tapping away on my electric drums with it.

It's interesting that both guitar players play Ricks.

Cory Wells, co-founder and vocalist for Three Dog Night, dead at the age of 74. RIP on that road to Shambala.

Going to put on a little TDN this evening.

Weller loved the sound of them. Long history of the Jam using them.

I got to sit in and play this song yesterday at a punk festival which the band I'm in were playing....the band before us agreed I could take over their drummers spot for it if I gave £20 to the charity. Easy peasy. My favourite song ever. Best two and a half minutes of my life behind drums.

Went to Flagstaff (AZ, USA) to see Primus and the Fungi Ensemble a few months ago and since then Primus has taken up a considerable amount of my music listening time. The show was fabulous, just Primus which I was glad about. I have had many opportunities to see Les and the band but never did. I so regret that now. I would highly recommend seeing a show if you get the chance. I know I won't miss him again when they get out this way.

i agree that is nice. Though I tend to prefer my Bach on the piano, ahistorical as it may be! If Helene Grimaud's Bach album is still available, it is a great version of this concerto... along with a lot of solo piano.

She doubles the chamber orchestra until :43... when the actual keyboard score kicks in.

Do love the Baroque composers, Bach and Purcell being a couple of my favorites, the chamber music especially. Been listening to Wax Fang lately.
