Just finished watching the animated show Avatar: The Legend of Korra. A very good show with one of the best soundtracks to come out of any western animated show in... years!! (Maybe even decades.) It has a great mix of Eastern string music and perfect smattering of that roaring 20's jazz scene.

An awesome jazz piece:

My friends got these songs stuck in my head. Ghosts is currently the main song stuck in my head as it's catchy as hell.

Also, Black Keys Brothers has been good driving music.

Been a fan of the Black Keys for a few years now.

If you like two piece bands:

For some major alternative stuff, here is something I heard off an internet "radio station" (Soma Radio - the "Doom" channel).

If anyone clicks on this, it takes awhile to get going but if you click to about the 7:00 mark you get a quick feel for it, although I love the opening reading.

Just your basic gothic-industrial-Edgar Allen Poe genre.

Love that group!
I know! I rediscovered their albums a few days ago so I've been playing them a lot. Great group and Irene has an amazing voice. Sadly, it seems they haven't put anything new out for sometime (at least, from what I can see in my brief interwebs searches).

Yeah, they seem to have disappeared. Even their earlier work which you could download for free has been pulled from the net. Good thing I had a copy on CD.

But I guess it was true: everybody did love Irene.

Their last post on FB was in December of last year so they're still around just no idea if they are producing anything :( :( And haha!!

Also, this is my favorite Japanese female rock band. Saw them live when they opened for The Pillows a few years ago. They kicked ass, bought two of their albums that night.

I'm addicted to this song at the moment, kind of a psychedelic throwback.
