I like the sentiment of this song:

Pretty much my attitude with most things.

Just got my tix for the Steve Hackett 'Genesis Revisited' tour show on April 3. :) I just hope that people will cool it with their smart phones so I can enjoy the show.

You know, I think the later Genesis fronted by Phil Collins was very good and sometimes great, but as this amazing song from the 'Lamb Lies Down on Broadway' underscores, they paled in comparison to when Peter Gabriel was with them:

I've been listening to a guy named Joseph Jacobs. Discovered him while browsing Youtube comments on another artist's video. He is definitely one of the best DJ's out there.

Weezer

And some Genesis
I realize that I'm replying to this several months late, but that album was probably recorded around the same time that the members of Weezer were popping out of their mothers. Maybe that album had some influence from early Genesis, though (not sure who his influences were, and can't be bothered to look it up). Despite that possibility, it bears mentioning that his first studio album was 2 years before Genesis'.

I've been hooked on Beck's new album, Morning Phase. It's a great album. It's very much like Sea Change but even better.

Just saw the finally released Hey Jude album while shopping for car cleaning stuff. Had to get it, and still like it as well as when I first heard it all those many years ago.

Some GREAT songs, but not one of my favorite "albums". It's just a collection of a few singles and b-sides created for the American market, and not a good mix in my opinion..."Can't Buy Me Love" and "I Should've Known Better" seem really out of place on the same album side as "Revolution". After the Rarities LP was released, I never had a reason to play the Hey Jude LP ever again. For the digital age, the Past Masters CDs provided the same songs in a more logical and tasteful order.

But hey, if you like these songs in this order, that's cool. Two thumbs up for buying ANY of the Beatles' great music!

Another interesting thing about the HJ album is that the tape versions led off with Side 2, as it was the longest.

I've been listening to the One Piece soundtrack a lot lately.... Some great pieces for an anime show:

Fully agree of the two oldie types, ???? Just can't see buying so many songs again, since I already own every CD but Hey Jude. Plus iirc there were a couple songs on the HJ CD that were never released anywhere else. But I must admit the quality of the recording on the CD is not very good. But like I said, had to have it, I'm a sucker:)

Well, some of the songs are a bit "rare" because they were all singles and B-sides not on American album releases. But they were all (except for the 2 oldies) put on the Past Masters 2 cd, along with other non-album songs. The HJ is still a collection of great songs....but what Beatles' cd isn't ;) And I definitely like the idea that it was an impulse purchase for you, yeah yeah yeah!

I find it interesting that you mentioned the sound quality was poor...I thought the entire Beatles' catalogue had been remastered to 21st century standards....hmmmm....
