Currently listening to an album called The House That Dirt Built by a band called The Heavy...you may have heard their cover of the old Curtis Mayfield song "How You Like Me Now". I downloaded this album after hearing their cover of this song and I have been blown away by the entire album. Good, solid, straight-up Rock in a Black Crowes vein with a little funk and regae mixed in...almost every song is in a different style, and they make them all work. Probably the best album that I have heard in the last two or three years...seriously...Check them out!!!
The new album Brothers by the Black Keys...great album, reminds me of The White Stripes mixed with old Motown/Soul and funk. Amazing sounds out of just two guys.
While not new, I've been listening a lot to the album The Best Little Secrets Are Kept by Louis XIV...sassy-assed pop-punk sex-talk...simply fun.
Semper Fi!
