I dedicate this song to Nexus6. :D It is Andrew Bayer's Nexus 6:

Very cool Scott. The music reminds me very much of the great electronica soundtrack from Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I need to play that great game again. Only been through it once.

BTW, concerning your Diamonds and Rust vid, I'm currently reading the Steve Jobs biography, and did you know that Steve dated Joan for about a year? In praise of older women! lol

@AsRomaFan - I was very sorry to hear about Bob Welch's passing. Hypnotized was the best song Fleetwood Mac ever did. Chris Carter must have been thinking of this great song when he created the X-Files.

Finding good electronica is not easy to do. In the hands of less talented arrangers, it just comes across as a bunch of bleeps and chirps. Nexus 6 is an example of the better stuff.

No, I didn't know that. Jobs always struck me as a Woodstock-type, so it doesn't surprise me. :)

Yes Scott, Steve Jobs was a hippie in the late 60's to mid 70's, and it definitely shows in the imaginative way he thought. BTW, I highly recommend the Walter Isaacson bio of Jobs. It's a classic rise and fall and rise story. I really think that when the dust settles history is going to be much kinder to Steve than it will be to Mr. Gates.

Yes, the girl's rendition of Diamonds and Rust is very good, very respectful of the original. Of course it always helps that she is cute too. ;)

PS......One of Steve Job's favorite movies was Patton. :)

Yup. She comes from one town over from me.

I think you are correct. Not that I find either men to be particularly noble (for lack of a better word), but there is something that really rubs me the wrong way about Gates.

New electronica song:

Went and saw The Wall live. Quite the show!
I'm sure it was, even without all the original Floyd members. You know, I think in many ways The Wall is an amazing album, and it has a lot of gems on it, but I have a hard time listening to it any more. It's like sooooo dark and depressing; sort of a nervous breakdown album. I would add though that I love the very first song (in the movie but not the original album) about the protagonist's father who was killed at Anzio.

Speaking of music, anyone watch the Olympics opening show? It was great seeing my man Mike Oldfield doing the music. He's one of the most underrated musicians I can think of, and although he's best known for his first album Tubular Bells, he's done much, much better since then. He's something of an institution in the UK and has a good following in the rest of Europe, but to this day he remains largely under-appreciated in the US (probably because he doesn't do rap or hip-hop ;)

Aside from the music though, anyone else think that the opening show was kind of strange bordering on morbid? I guess I shouldn't be surprised though with Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Slumdog Millionaires) directing it.
