On a Black Crowes kick; Brothers of a Feather (Chris & Rich Robinson, acoustic live album) and Freak and Roll...Into the Fog (live at the Fillmore). These remind me why I really love the Crowes...

For a TV show

Read on the BSG website that they will use a song written by Bob Dylan in the early 1960s.

So I googeld the name "All Along the Watchtower". Found many references to this song by multiple artists. But I think Jimmy Hendrix does it the best. I am not a Hendrix fan, but that song will stir up emotions from that timeperiod.

When Hendrix did Like a Rolling Stone, i wasn't impressed; yet in the past year i heard a live version of his and it really kicks arse...now if i only knew where to get it! but, you're right; Hendrix' version is the definitive version...

Thats a toughie. It's just a friggin' good song. I have a real hard time picking between Jimi, Dave Matthews, and, as incongrouous as it may sound, the original version done by Dylan.

Since it's too hard for you to pick I'll do it for you, geezer:

Hendrix!

:headbang: See how easy that was? :p

Woa! Squad Leader People are here too! Hello.

Currently listening to the latest 'Crucial (insert type of blues) Blues' issues by Alligator records. Actually bought the CDs even. Great value sampler albums. Next up will be the Ruthie Foster CD I bought on amazon just now. Another blues singer, this time female.

Re: The Obligatory What Are You Listening To thread

For some strange reason I've found myself listening to an assortment of pipe and drum marches, part of being a grog I guess :clown:
