For a player with play time shortage, is Moria as bad as it appears to me? I could with reasonable investment of time follow the epic storyline before Moria. But a couple books into Moria it grinds to a halt. At level 50 is it extremely tedious to do anything in there since all the hallways are having mobs in aggro range of the walls. Plus the 2D maps which don't indicate hard walls do not allow you to actually find a way to a certain location without serious amounts of labyrinthing.

I think I have to get out of there and pick up levels in Forochel and Eregion.

What level do I need to do Lothlorien?

You can wander into Lorien at 50 but it's rough = fun.
You need to get "X" amount of rep with Lorien to get past the first section but they have daily quests that you can grind out pretty quick.

Jumping in & out of Moria is a good way to get thru it, as it is a long, long grind. All my 50+ characters have sections of the Epic undone because those parts are HARD and require a very-good fellowship to complete. Moria is designed to be a maze, some of it's silly but others make sense being a series of tunnels.

You'll be glad to get out into the sunshine after gloomy Moria.

Well they are re-doing Book 2 (epic storyline in moria) to be 100% soloable in the march update. While I didn't even make it to the group quests out of pure boredom there is some hope (or even certainty) that they dumb down the whole thing so that it's easy mode - which in this particular case I want :D

It's encouraging that I could go out the east side of Moria right now. While my free time situation doesn't really allow me to play any RPG right now I would hate to give up before seeing at least all the major areas in this game.

I think the summary is that I don't like classic dungeons.

When I read about the Solo'ing of the Epic line I said- "finally!" My wife said "about time."
This was just based on a couple of nightmarish lvl 50's Moria Epic Quests that even our 65's couldn't complete.

I was against the "solo'ing" of the Epic Line because of the great storyline & "Fellowship" aspect of doing them, but after running headlong into the crazy "high-end" content I like the idea now.

Well the flip side is that the method they choose to do this is so-called "inspired greatness" which IMHO is neither inspired nor great, quite on the contrary.

For book1 I have seen extensive problems with IG screwing up the map and quest pointers and some things are extremely uneven with IG on. Most things are way too easy and then you get some pretty much impossible escort quest with a suicidal NPC or a too hard boss. You can't wait a few levels before going in because then the stuff that was too easy is now NIL.

For my taste IG is a too quick programming hack and needs some polishing.

Oh and I tried to walk into Lothlorien and couldn't since I thought it's behind the Redhorn Lobes. I should have red the book more carefully.

But in any case I discovered that eastern Moria is a lot more open and less braindead then the western half. So there might be light at the end of the tunnel, hehe.
