How does one get into playing Mongoose's Victroy at Sea naval ga me, especially with the added complication that it lacks scenarios and would be more suitable as a WWI-eras naval game?

I use the "war at sea" pre-painted figs.
VAS is a fairly simple game compared to some and above simple to others. There are scenarios in the book. The biggest complaint was no point system but I have some good news about this. Not only is there going to be a point system, there is going to be a new version. VAS 2.0 is going to be more detailed with accurate factors, ranges and statistics. The fleet list are very exstensive. There will also be a very exstensive miniature line for WWII cast in the 1/1800 scale starting late Sept. The rules will cover fleet rules, coastal rules, covoy rules and invasion rules. The aircraft rules still work well intergrating into the ship rules. As for WWI there is a set of rules for this time and an expansion.
