Do you have a month in mind?1931 is as far back as I would like to go. Before then it's more like WW1 than WW2
I’ll second thatLFT previewed the Russian Civil War (primarily in the far east) in their FTC-4 pack, quite good and a neat three player scenario.
And the boards are freaking awesome ;-)Steve Swann working on both of these...know this as doing some proofreading for him on these two wars in ASL.

I don't believe "low intensity" (to use a modern term) conflicts prior to "1931" preclude WW2 like troops...EX P.A. type MMC versus Philippine Partisans... US forces in Cuba vs. Spanish Forces same... Whether this is of interest to any given ASLer is another point...that it is WW1 is not so. Nor for that matter are Rommel's "attacks" in Slovenia during WW1 itself.
1931-1953 is what I will target for new ASL designs. Carry on and good luck to your endeavors whenever they occur.Plenty of ASL action possible before that date as my post shows.
Actually ready Rommel’s book it sounded like the new stosstruppe tactics was more squad based than platoon movement.Nor for that matter are Rommel's "attacks" in Slovenia during WW1 itself.
The German experience with the Stosstruppen in the latter half of WW1 formed the basis for infantry doctrine and with further interwar development became the standard for Germany in WW2. The combination of infiltration (and avoidance of resistance where possible), decentralised command and mobile firepower remained the same, just decent numbers of tanks added. Armour just followed the same principals, get in behind the easiest way possible and wreak havoc behind the enemy lines.Actually ready Rommel’s book it sounded like the new stosstruppe tactics was more squad based than platoon movement.
So have I. That is why I said his actions are like ASL. I have a scenario on this in the MM WWI Pack/Module whenever that comes out.Actually ready Rommel’s book it sounded like the new stosstruppe tactics was more squad based than platoon movement.
I know two folks working on that.Rif War looks interesting.
Not a topic covered in my education, but quite interesting. More asymmetrical warfare.
