Since I still haven't figured out how to post images to the Downloads section, I'm starting a thread with a few pictures to illustrate.
I made this mod because I found the colors of the 3D bases to be far too vivid. I also didn't like the fact that when you selected a unit its base got darker rather than lighter.
This mod should work with plain-vanilla HPS or modded 3-D figures.
Here are a few before and after shots:
