MG Bore Sighting

I may have been playing this wrong for years. When shooting DFF in the Boresight hex can the MG FG with the manning infantry? I have always thought the MG had to fire alone but in looking at C6.4 I am now thinking the manning infantry can combine and get the -2 DRM but an not sure. Which is correct?

Hello Mike,
As per 6.44 "The −2 Bore Sighting DRM may be used by a FG making such an attack only if all elements of that FG have Bore Sighted that same Location. " I would say that since IFP doesn't boresight they can't be combined.
We shall see what other people say.

Moreover, "all" is italicized in the rules, which makes it clear that only weapons that have a Bore Sighted the same Location are entitled to the DRM if they FG.

It doesn't come up that often, but occasionally players Bore Sight a Location that is beyond the Normal Range--to a maximum of 16 hexes--of the weapon. It's easy to forget this when sighting a Russian 50mm MTR or a .50 cal., or other weapons with a Normal Range in excess of 16 hexes.

Thanks guys. That is how I have always played it but was looking at the rule to make sure I could use it vs a bypassing unit and started to question my understanding.

Between the more nuance discussions here on gamesquad making me overthink things combined with re-reading the rules, I've second guessed my understanding of a rule or rule section many a time in the past year or so.
