I always look forward to the custom information markers that come with BFP products, but a set that came with the Mannerheim module has me puzzled. When do you use the "Motion failed/Smoke failed" markers?

When you have a lot of tanks and/or you're 'saving' the game for tomorrow and you need to remember who has already made a Motion/Smoke attempt that turn?

I was thinking, for the "Motion Failed" markers, you use them when you have to roll to get a tank moving, such as a solitaire radioless tank or a tank that can stall, but don't get the roll. For the "Smoke Failed" markers, you use them when an MMC rolls to throw a smoke grenade but doesn't get the roll. But I would like to know for sure.

Fairly confident they were originally meant for D13.2 and D2.401, but nothing stopping anyone using them for other cases as well.

D13.2 USAGE: An AFV may attempt to dispense smoke once per Player Turn during the MPh...
D2.401 ... A vehicle may attempt Motion status only once per enemy MPh and...

Exactly. This is the primary reason, but as Zoltan pointed out you can use them at other times as well.

How about the different colored corners on the No Smoke, No WP, etc. markers?

That is actually there to make them easier to find. Once you get used to the fact that "No Smoke" is a certain color, for example, then finding it in the bin with all of the other status counters should hopefully be easier. At for us dinosaurs that are still using storage systems like Planos. You 3D printer folks already have that figured out. :)
