Major H a fixable problem for network play?

A quick copy and paste of Gary and my conversation from an AAR thread.

If you watch the replay, look at the trucks on the secondary road at left. At the end of turn twenty they are there. At the beginning of turn 21 they are gone. IIRC the owning player [PIN 32, Maurice?] was having connection problems and dropped several times.

Maybe a glitch we can see if the Major can fix. Allow a dropped players units to remain on map and continue on orders as they have been given.

That is the way that the code works now. However, apparently there is some point in the orders exchange process where it is possible for a drop to cause units to disappear. Not sure that there is a fix for that without slowing down the orders exchange process.

Why didn't the umpire just replace them? Was it not immediately noticed by the owning player?

In this case, the umpire did not notice. He was asleep! It has happend before, alway with players that continually drop out and rejoin. I remember it happening to Bernard in his dialup days.
