The world Tolkien created has too much unique depth and richness in his books, Rowling played off the real world & current times.
Never much question which would win!

They are two very different worlds. Rowling wrote childrens books. Very good ones that can be appreciated by adults but childrens nonetheless. Tolkien was a work where he explored his love of language myth and legend. To compare the two is not fair both speak to very different markets.
