LOS BB12,2nd level to O12 ground RB

LOS BB18,2nd level to O12 ground RB

This LOS came up last night while playing RB. I have a .50cal HMG/9-1 ldr/squad on the second level of hex BB18. I then noticed a stack of German infantry in hex O12(factory hex). I new I could see into the factory because of the roofless factory hex. We did agree that the LOS does exist and that's how we played it.
Problem is we are not 100% sure.
Does LOS exist YES or NO?

Into O12?

I don't think so.
O5.43: '... a unit on or higher than a Factory roof has no LOS into roofed ground-level Factory Locations past the first such Location its LOS enters.'

Unless O12 has become roofless (in which case LOS is clear), or you're referring to Q12 (also clear), that is. Have you been setting fire to everything like a good little Ivan?

O12 is the correct hex.

In that case, unless someone burnt down the Factory, no LOS.

(I only queried the hex because I perenially confuse the Q and O hexrows in RB. Usually the other way round though...)

The roof in hex P12 we thought did not interfere with LOS because it is at 1 1/2 level height. Therefore we thought LOS did exist.
