I have a book called "A Thousand Shall Fall", by Hans Habe. He was in the French 21st Volunteer Regiment of the 35th Infantry Division. They got their butt kicked at Ste. Menehould, which has the Aisne River on the north side, and the Aisne Canal on the south side. The Germans attacked across the river from the north. I think the battle was around June 14th. But I can't find any other source to give the date or the German units involved.

This may or may not make a decent scenario. The Germans have FBs, tanks, ACs, and motorcycle troops. The French have MGs and a sense of futility.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Vince,

Here's OKH map for June 14, 1940. you can see the French 35 ID (in red) facing units of the German VII Korps (looks like the 16th & 24th ID and possibly a police division from the XVII Korps).
