Just to double check....

An Open Ground Location contains two broken 8-0 leaders and three Good Order 4-4-7 MMCs. The Location is hit with an IFT result of "1MC".

The two leaders check first (A10.2). Coincidentally, both leaders fail their Morale Check and suffer Casualty Reduction and is Wounded. Each leader rolls a Wound Severity dr and both roll a 5 (what a coincidence!) and so both are eliminated due to a fatal wound.

Next, the three MMCs each roll their 1MC check with no leader assistance.

Regardless of the MMC status after their IFT-result 1MC, each MMC must then take two LLMCs...correct?

Sounds right.

"Get three coffins ready."

"On second thought, would you consider a bulk discount?"

Even though both leader were 8-0's...when they were wounded their morale level was reduced to 7...although they were both subsequently eliminated by their wound severity die roll.

For clarification purposes...is the LLMC based on the leader's morale prior to the attack? Or after the effects of the attack?

Him standing there stoutly in the face of blistering fire is how his men remember him:

A10.2 & A10.31
A 9-1 leader is stacked with an 8 ML squad (both with ELR 3). They are fired on resulting in a 1MC. The leader takes his 1MC and rolls 6,6, for a Casualty MC [A10.31]. This also exceeds the leader’s ELR. The leader takes wound severity dr and rolls a 5 for a fatal wound, and so is eliminated. The squad passes its 1MC from the fire attack. For purposes of determining if the squad
will take a LLMC for the now eliminated leader...
  1. Is the leader’s pre-attack ML of 9 used, such that the squad will need to take a LLMC? or..
  2. Does ELR replacement occur before the effects of the Casualty MC are applied, as per A10.31 and as such it is an 8-1 leader that is eliminated and that is eliminated and the squad will not need a LLMC?
A. 1) is correct.
The leader does not momentarily become wounded, then die. It is eliminated.

Yes, 2 LLMC as per A10.2 "...For each leader eliminated (whether by breaking when already broken, a mortal wound, or any other cause), after resolution of that attack (if any) all other friendly Personnel units with a currently lower Morale Level and in the same Location (or in the same moving stack, e.g., during Defensive First Fire) must take a LLMC...".
