Hi-
How many of you people out there (a whole 5 of us) buy TPM HASL's? I'm thinking not many since alot of tournements seem to use official ASL HASL's IE I'm sure we will see an OVHS HASL scenario before we see a Genisis 48 CH! scenario. Thoughts?

I don't own any, but that's not a reflection on the TPMs ... it's a reflection of a limited gaming budget that has caused me to focus on owning all of the "official" stuff ... because I can't possibly buy everything that's out there. I will play TPM stuff ... I just don't buy it.

As to tournaments, I think the reason you don't see the TPM HASLs is that fewer people (and by that, I'm referring mainly to the tournament directors who select scenarios) own the TPM stuff. As a TD myself, I stay closer to the beaten path of AH/MMP stuff because more people own that stuff.

Therefore, more people will have what they need to play the scenario. Although this year, at Winter War, we did stray outside the MMP and SP scens ... adding an ASLUG, a couple HOB, and a Fanatic Pack scenario.

Scott,

You'll have a few more TPP scenarios to play soon. Stay tuned for details, but the SoCal ASL Club is releasing a scenario pack this coming weekend at West Coast Melee. We playtested these 6 scenarios for a friggin' year, every one is polished and well-balanced. I promise, Scott, you will like these.

Teazer: all but one have variable OoB and/or FoW choices for one or both sides.

TPP HASL

Scott,

buying or playing?
Besides me working for HoB, I usually buy everything - except for CH!.
But playing? Hmm, I haven't played any of the official HASL after KGP - just a personal thingie, as I feel them way too scripted to be enjoyable for me - but RB is still my number 1 HASL.
I think the main problem with TPP CG is the lack of "general CG rules" - a set of fixed CG rules for all CG that are only tweaked by CG SSR to fit the current CG. :?
So everytime you buy a CG, you don't know which rules you have to un-learn and which are new. If one could establish such a fixed CG rules set which all others could utilize would help alot.
And I think this would also take some of the "unofficial" character off of the TPP - IMHO

Hi-
Klaus, what happened between you and CH!? Anyway, Ray does a decent job with his squads & leaders products though they lack the crisp graphics
of HoB or MMP. I thought Gen48 and the SCW modules were ok, the biggest propblem I had were the AFV counter layout.
But the best HASL I played this year was OVHS, lots of fun without a ton of special rules tacked on to it.

me and CH!

weeel, it is a rather long story and very personal.
It is not that I'm bashing CH! or their products. It is just me buying no more CH!.
Ray and I had a good working relationship while it lasted and it was beneficial to both of us.
So this is not a rating of CH! products at all. Just a personal decission :?
Ciao
