As the title sys: "Large numbers of Allied colonial infantry trained"

This has been in the news briefing on turn 33 in my current game with Dierk. We both just wonder what that means...?!?

Bunch of Rifle Squads are dumped into the Allied replacement pool.

I suppose it's meant to simulate trained reserves of French and British colonial soldiers. Although I question it's accuracy, as the colonial troops were mainly used in their own, separate units (French colonial, Indian, Canadian, ANZAC)...

I'll have to find the right book for quoting - but German generals found French
colonial troops a quite difficult opponent:smoke:

I agree French colonial troops were generaly long serving profesionals so were much better trained than French reserve troops but i cant imagine they were equipt to fight a modern european war

Speaking of, in one of my games my Vichy units haven't appeared - not one of them.

What did you do then? Did you opt for Franco as an Axis Ally?

Eek! I can't type 'Are you sure?' but you're saying that France surrendered following the Axis occupation of Paris, and none of the three Vichy formations - Metropolitan France, North Africa and Syria - appeared?

As Telumar asks, are you sure that you (or your opponent if he's the Axis player) didn't immediately press the TO to activate Spian as an Axis ally? Failing that, a fleeing Commonwealth unit couldn't have occupied Lyons, could it? That triggers Vichy surrender but, in the circumstances, I'd have asked him to make his move again and avoid passing through Lyons.

Be interested to learn what happened.
