Why isn't this here already????? :D

Jeff,

Any chance you might have some copies at the tourney this weekend? You know, to hand deliver to people who have paid and who are going to be there? (I'll be there Saturday, and I paid for one of these....)

I got mine today. I am a little disappointed with the map's material. It is that shiney coated paper. The hexes are the same size or maybe just a tad smaller than the Geo mapboards. I already have the folding white corner showing on the map. I wish HOB had used the same material as the OtO map with the same hex size and maybe split the map in two.

Counters look good.

Have only briefly scanned the scenarios but they look interesting

Kreta received in the Twin Cities today, Thursday, Feb. 21.

Initial high-level review: The map looks good. However, it's one very large semi-glossy version on thin paper magazine sytle paper-- my initial reaction to this physical characteristic was not enthusiastic.

Rules pages - 6 pages. Look fine with some interesting terrain types.

Standard HOB scenario card format -- nice. Scenarios of varying size.

One countersheet with the glossy counters like in the Special Forces Pack. Again, they look great, but am not a fan of the glossy style. That's just me.

I also recd my replacement RBF4 countersheet and they look great! Very similar to the OTO counters in quality (and NOT glossy).

Not an extensive review, but just a snapshot.

Cheers!

Thanks, TJ. Had no trouble getting a pre-release version from the publisher :)

Just like VotG, though, I didn't do the original map, I just colored it for hardcopy and VASL. I don't know who their original artist was, and maybe I'm biased cuz I spent so much time with the thing, but DANG is this a pretty map. There's a lot going on, and just about every inch of it has character.

Sure, the VASL map was fast, but why did you have to make it all Glossy and thin?

Guys, The Glossyness of the maps and the counters was not the intention and won't be used again. Sometimes people don't listen to what you are telling them. The size of the map became and issue with the map printer who was a subcontracter and the main printer made a call, wrong one. The counters were made during the initial Recon 4 run.

Second batch should be leaving this weekend.
