Folks - Give it up ! This person is 'dead' to ASL now and from Heat of Battle is long ago RIP. So leave him and HOB alone - Today, They don't exist. . .
You have a strange tenor in your writing.

Do you know Shaun or something? Is 'dead' to ASL his words or yours ?

I suppose enough components and research material for Kohima exists somewhere, enough so that BFP had an advertisement for it in the CoS handbook. We can only hope some motivated and talented designer(s) will take up the baton and bring this to life.

I can think of at least one person who would love to be a Playtester. :)
I've been involved a little on this one. I've seen the map, which looks great. I helped develop a few counters for it and they've got a couple of counter sheets for it. I think the major work remaining is getting the scenarios playtested and in shape.

I would not say "in progress". I would also not say "dead". There has been movement behind the scenes. Guess we shouldn't start to seriously hope until the principals say anything publicly, but I wanted to note that "mostly dead" is not the same as "all dead".

edit: And in fact, there is an effort to turn "partly alive" into something better :)

Definitely not dead - just life has gotten in the way. Shaun has been responding to emails regarding playtest feedback.

If and when it comes out I will buy it, no question about that. However as far as I am concerned HoB is comatose, almost dead and has been for quite a few years.

It has to a fair extent though my understanding is that this is going to be the final hazzah so hopefully will be given a great release when it's ready

I don't know how these things work but I'd love BFP or St Louis Club to take it over and run with it sharpish to it's conclusion.

I really can't see it ever seeing the light of day without someone propagating something to get hold of it and complete it.

PS: Happy birthday gimp

Hi all,

Doing some really good reading on Kohima ("Road of Bones" by Fergal Keane) and happy to see there's a module "in progress/on hold" (not sure where it fits most!!)
Aside from that [hopefully] future module, are there any scenarios on Kohima?
Regards

Having seen the actual map during playtesting, all I can say is brush up on your LOS rules as they relate to extreme level changes.

[KE7] "Tennis, Anyone?"
I don't want to bad mouth a scenario, but this one sucks IMO. First, it's a dog; second, it bears no resemblance to the actual terrain; and third, there are very few options for either side (due to the small playing area maybe).

Very encouraging to hear that this project is still alive.

Does anyone have any idea how hard it was to come up with colors for all of those different levels? Hint: REALLY HARD. "Well, you got your 'deep green', then your 'slightly-less-deep-but-still-green-green', then your 'hey-we're-thinking-about-Level-0' green, then ..."

And on the Hill side as well. Most of the higher levels are mainly covered in Woods, but still, you want them to be visually sensible without resorting to neon colors.

Without the printed contour lines and level numbers, it would probably not work.

I like the map a lot. I really hope people get to play on it.

It has scenarios on both historical and Geomorphic maps, if it ever sees the light of day.
thanks
