An unconcealed squad stacked with a concealed squad are subjected to a powerful low-dice roll attack. The full FP attack on the un? squad = 1KIA. The half FP attack on the ? squad = K/2. KIA rules says the un? Squad is eliminated and all other units stacked with are broken.

What happens to the concealed squad?

Each part of the stack is subject to a different result: the unconcealed squad takes a 1KIA and is eliminated (if there were other unconcealed units with it, there would be random selection and one [or more] unit would be eliminated, the rest broken); the concealed squad takes a K/2: it is Casualty Reduced to a Half-squad, and the Half-squad takes a 2MC (it is not automatically broken by the KIA: it is subject to a different result).

These low rolls are some rare cases where it can be actually detrimental to have concealed and unconcealed units, rather than just unconcealed units (here if the HS misses its 2MC, the stack ends up losing 1.5 squad with the remainder broken; "just" taking the 1KIA would likely result in losing 1 squad with the remainder broken).

In essence your one attack vs the stack becomes several attacks based upon differing results on a per unit basis (I like Philippe's "it is subject to a different result" explanation). A similar situation is on a stack of units, one carrying a FT. Even though you fire at the stack as a single attack, because the -1 DRM for the FT toting dude may result in a KIA, no other units in the stack would suffer an automatic break simply because the FT carrying unit suffered a KIA.

Hello all

So, what happens when you have an unconcealed and a concealed squad fired on by 4FP halfed to 2FP with final DR of 2(non cowered).
Results are K/2 and K/1. How many K results to apply, one to each squad or one total with random selection? Of course then apply a 2MC and a 1MC. I think one for each squad.
A similar question comes to mind about the numbers of KIAs. Are these type of results always resolved seperatly?

Thanks
Alan

Different results are applied to those units which suffer them. I don't believe a K/1 and a K/2 are the same result, which means that both groups take a K followed by the appropriate MC.
