Quite amazing that it was likely one of the top 5 naval battles in the history of the world, but really hard to learn anything about the battle outside of a book which makes following the movement of the fleets almost impossible. The animation and narration absolutely brings it all together.

The differences in character between Jellicoe and Beatty are also a very interesting aspect of the story.

Beatty is reported to have remarked (to his Flag Captain, Ernle Chatfield,), "there seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today," after two of them had exploded within half an hour during the battle.

My Grandfather was there as a 17-year-old. Wounded in the head and almost buried at sea when someone noticed he was still moving. Lived to be 79 and had 7 children plus a stack of grandchildren. Me and my brother used to push our fingers into the hole in the back of his head until the skin made contact with the titanium[?] plate.

Thanks for the link to the video.
