For me, it was the first MP game in a long time and, as it happened, the first Jutland game as well. But it ran smoothly enough for most of the time, it seems MP conditions have improved a lot.

First of all, though, I want to use this opportunity for a complaint: I had NO problems AT ALL joining the game, and this at the first game after installing a ROUTER! Just about EVERYONE should know that fiddling around to get in is half the fun... :D but Rich Mercer seems to have covered the most pressing issues.

I got the old CL of IV. Aufklärungsgruppe plus two groups of TB and was assigned to do escort for the battlewagons, Fleet Command (Jess) ordered me to cover the port quarter side. Pretty soon, the action began to heat up and RN crossed our T as we approached on an WNW course to attack the CA sailing with the BC. After the RN battle line began to suffer from catastrophic ammunition explosions a lot, a massive DD attack was launched against our line and I was ordered to engage. Just at this time, the game took the opportunity to get choppy and report connection problems to honj - strangely enough, no one else seemed to get them, at least on the German side. Steering became impossible at times, but I gained control back in time to rush at the enemy and open fire. It seems that the results in defence from the battle line and the escorts, both from gunnery and torpedoes, were terribly effective at close range, as few RN DD and CL survived the charge and I lost only a handful of TB, a few were badly damaged but could be repaired.

The battle ended after RN got fed up with their BB blowing up a lot, and rightly so. I had little time to keep track of it, but indeed the vast majority of the RN battle force was wiped out, while the KM only lost a few light ships and a lot of damaged capital ships. Incredibly bad luck indeed, as the RN battle plan was sound - perhaps the targeting and critical hit issues should be checked once again, as unstable cordite was OFF.

Great game nonetheless, gentlemen.

Aye, that was painful, especially since my squadron took most of the beating. All started with the KGV blowing up after a single hit and by the end of the battle my squadron was down to 3 barely-combat worthy battleships...

My DD squadron, which indirectly supported the reckless DD charge, was mostly intact when I told it to pull out. Same as with my ACs, but they didn't really do much.

Oh, it didn't help that the smoke was in our eyes most of the time

Oh, I had that connection problem with honj too, he was the only person I had lag problems with in that game

Maybe the RN should learn to keep its distance and exploit its greater firing range

What with all the constant rain? Doesn't work

What the RN needs is battleships that don't explode and sink after a single hit

Yeah, seem like ACH Cordite was ON even if host settings was set to OFF.

It looks like all players need to set them to OFF. Worth trying next time.
