SSR 6 says that the hero has an inherent bicycle, and if he makes it off the south edge on turn 1, the reinforcements enter on turn 2. However, he's required to set up in hex N20, which is 12 road hexes from the southern board edge. How, pray tell, can he make it off the board on turn 1? Reading the bicycle rules, he has 4 MF, +1 for remaining on the road (which he must, riding the bike), for a total of 5. at 1/2 MF per road hex, that leaves him 2 short of exiting..... What the heck am I missing here?? The SSR also says that the hero's treated as a 'tank under recall'... don't know what that means except that he'll move first.

Any ideas? I'm getting ready to set up.

Thanks,

Mr. Probst kindly answered this on the mailing list:

Bruce Probst via the ASLML said:
It's not at all obvious from the printed bicycle rules, but a hero (or leader)
on a bicycle has 6 MF -- note the D15.81 reference to A4.12, which refers to
leaders granting accompanying MMC their 2 MF bonus. That only makes any sense
if the leader himself gets his full 6 MF, and that in turn implies that a hero
gets it too.

This was confirmed in a recent Perry Sez:

Yes to all, except that a Wounded SMC would only have 3 MF. Note also that
Double Time is available normally per A4.5.

Correct.

Note that according to Perry's answer that the bicycle hero can also use
Double Time movement.

As for moving like a "tank under recall", I would assume that it means he must
choose the route that gets him offboard ASAP.
