This came up the other day.
A berserk unit is 2 hexes away from its target. During the MPh it
moves into open ground adjacent to the target which makes a First Fire shot.
(PBF, DRM -2 for FFMO and FFNAM ), no effect. The berserker now
enters the target's hex. according to 8.312 the defender MUST attack
the berserker with TPBF.

My interpretation that this TPBF shot is NOT FPF since it's only marked
with the FF counter. My opponent contended it was FPF.

I said I'd post the question just for confirmation. Thanks

It is not FPF. FPF only occurs to units marked with Final Fire [EXC: Cavalry Charge]. Check out A8.23 and the example under A8.41.

Also, A7.212 restricts the unit's fire options to the TPBF target.

A8.312 mandates the attack because the berserk unit entered the hex during the MPh.
