It's great news, maybe BFP could take a page from CH! and print two versions, one for the folks who missed out on OtO the first time 'round and an abridged version for the geezers who already have it.

I suspect there will be fundamental changes that make it so that we need to buy the new one. It is good 'marketing' if you will and probably good for the hobby to see the older stuff updated/changed. It will just be bad on our wallets.

I am not unhappy to have bought a soon-to-be out of date OtO, I am unhappy that I have yet to play anything from it. :(

I will be buying the 'deluxe' version of OtO when it comes out. My guess is this will be the last conversion: HoB -> BFP???

There's other things that they could redo if BPF is morphing into HoB reborn, I wouldn't mind seeing the Cassino kit redone & the Fire Fights series could be creatively revisited.
The Cassino mod didn't even survive the last iteration of HoB's web "presence."

None of these were Chas's babies though I believe

Greetings!

I would hope there are not many fundamental changes. OtO is a great product (one of the best ever IMHO, TPP or Official), why would they mess with it? I understand not wanting another copy of basically the same thing, but I will plop down the money for an East Front Pack from BFP. Another copy of OtO allows me do to LOS checks (OK I am reaching I know).

Peace

Got to ask again (just to make sure), is the map and the CG going to be re-released too? (not just the Operation Bagration scenarios and the counters)....

Thanks.

I'm going to have to pass since I already have it. Of course, should BFP add more stuff to it (scenarios, etc) I would be 'forced' to acquire at least one copy.
Jerry it will be just one part of a large East Front Pack along the lines of our recent Blood and Jungle release...

Roger our intention is to correct some of the counters, all of the errata. Beyond that we've not discussed any fundamental or comprehensive changes. The map will be different as we have a different map artist, but not so much so that it will not look like the original in most respects...

Ok now THE question...

this will be the next release after High Ground 2 or we have to expect something other before OTO Reprint? (Just to figure how much we had to wait for this!)

We have several projects ahead of the OtO reprint..Several all already public, Corregidor 1941 and 45, Pelelieu, Huertgen Forest (we're still looking for CG playtesters for this) and there are several unnaounced items in the works that may see daylight before OtO...part of the hesitantcy of announcing anything. We won't release until we're ready and the product is ready...We have no hard and fast ETA's on any product at this point other than High Ground 2 which will be available at ASLOK.

Would it be possible to do the CG for Huertgen Forest via VASL/PBEM?

If not it would give me some incentive to either get Joe to do it with me or to get my son into full ASL sooner.

Don send me a personal email and I'll hit up the Huertgen team and will get back to you on that one...

Don,
I'm coordinating the Hurtgen CG play, and yes it would be possible to do the CG over VASL. I've got some VASL counters to create for it, but I should be to get that lined up soon. The map is ready.

Now please don't let this stop you from playing it with Joe or especially your son. It would be very cool to get him into the game.

Cool on the VASL bit, email sent. Joe is infected with PTO (and is infecting me, lol. My son has done 5-9 SK games, and we are thinking about moving him to full, little by little, going to give him my 1st edition and see what transpires, working on finalizing the garage, but the damn dog is pregnant and wife wants the puppies out there...

So as I move him along doing the VASL CG would be cool until about Nov/Dec when the dogs go bye bye...

Probably a very fair analysis Roger....Plenty of time for you to finish all of Blood and Jungle and High Ground 2, plaing each scenario twice (once as each side)
