Agreed. I buy no CH! but still feel like I'm drinking from a firehose between MMP, BFP and others. NOT complaining. :)

Ya, I swore off MMP products after getting burned by Hells corners small hexes, VotG's crappy map and BRT guides numerous errata. Ya, CH! has its share of problems but at least its supporters are not a bunch of rabid retard MMP supporters/ fanboys

Ya I know, but the MMP retard fanboys seem to go out of thier way to slam CH at any chance they get, so I thought I give them a bit of greif that MMP is also guilty of putting out crap too.

Let me be clear. I didn't slam CH! and I don't think I have any other time on this forum. I simply don't buy CH! stuff. This is in part a reflection on their (mixed but improving) reputation, but mostly it's due to the fact that I just started buying TPP a year or so ago and I'm collector-y enough to want to be able to "catch up" with the publishers I've decided to buy from. "Catching up" with CH! is well nigh impossible and they got prioritzed down the list. I do cherry pick a couple of publishers (HOB and Lone Canuck) and expect CH! to go on that list at some point as they have published a few things that interest me (not a big HASL guy). I just don't yet. All I was saying was that even not buying CH! keeeping up with current releases is a lot.

It's the "back catalog" that renders it hopeless to catch up.

S
Its not that bad, its no different then someone coming back to ASL and wanting to 'catch' up with purchasing MMP stuff, except the Core stuff is far more expensive and parts are OOP or unavailable (FKAC, AOO, and Yanks) or not yet available (RS, HP, Yanks2, FKAC2).

Start with the scenario packs. I picked up a ton of CH stuff from both Alex and The Gamer's Armory for under 100, most of the scenario packs are 10-15 bucks and my philosophy is if I can play 5 of the scenarios I win, heck some might actually be fun...lol. The smaller HASL stuff is really cool too, to test it out try the Caretan one its like 4 scenarios and a small historical map, pretty cool. Also you can pick up the new Assuie pack for like 11 just to test it out.

I have almost all the LC and BFP stuff and will round those out and I have a lot of CH stuff, to me the only thing from HOB I got was the SS packs adn the only thing I'd search for later on is the FF packs. To me LFT is the elusive one, I got all the OOTC packs (except the new one) and I'd love to buy the mags but they are very expensive (40+ per) I don't mind paying that much for the Cellar stuff cause besides scenarios they come with counters..

Its not a race to get all the stuff in one day and I doubt it will go away soon either.

I like BFP quality, maps, overlays, counters and scenarios so they get a high ranking but there is only one time HG2 coming out till sometime next year, LFT and FF are also releasing a new pack (prob ESG as well, speaking of which I wish they would put out more down loadable purchases like at the Scenario Archive I can't justify spending 20 or 25 bucks for ESG or SP stuff but if its was down loadable for 12 then I'd snap at it) it's all about quality and priorities.

Plus not getting caught by the boss...off shore accounts help...lol:devious:

Sad to say, but I wouldn't start ASL now because I would see how hopeless it is to catch up on the MMP stuff. :/

The "boss" and I have clear and honest rules and budgets... She knits, I play ASL. The budgets are pretty generous, actually...

Like I said, I haven't ruled CH! out, but just haven't gotten there yet. Appreicate your recommends...

Hey guys...think we've really strayed off course here....Y'all started celebrating about the OtO news and have descended into MMP and CH bashing...neither of which has anything to do with OtO being reprinted <GRIN>

I'm going to have to pass since I already have it. Of course, should BFP add more stuff to it (scenarios, etc) I would be 'forced' to acquire at least one copy.

I suspect I'll get it and it'll be yet another product that sits there never getting played. Doesn't stop me from wanting it though.

I'm lucky in that I feel no need to complete a collection. I can cherry pick what I want (bought ABTF didn't buy watchtower or Tarawa. Bought Tigers to the front and bells bridgehead didn't buy Stonne.)

Read the thread, my good man (especially Post 14). ;) It will be part of a massive East Front pack a la Blood & Jungle.
