Of course it can.

Reading A12.152 again, however, it is clear in this case the search dr is made precisely at the same time the stack containing => 1 MMC expends 1MF and ends its move (and regardless of if it is attacked or affected by defensive first fire).

A12.152 is clear to me now. It may not and should not have been earlier.

I said that in an earlier post - and of course, I was wrong - a matter of NOT reading the entire ASOP 3.41A entry, which clearly says defensive fire in all its glorious forms is allowed vs Searching units.

But what relief to find that there was SOMETHING I've been playing right all these years!
