Hi All,

8-0 leader alone in a building, with no SW. Enemy MMC declares infantry OVR and passes its TC. On SMC options (A4.151) option 1 is fire, and remain in place and accept CC during movement (after all DFF). Since the 8-0 has no weapon, may it still stay and accept CC, or must it be pushed out of the hex by the attacker?

Second question, is the attacking MMC subject to any fire prior to OVR (I'm thinking snapshot on way into hex for example, or external DFF on move into hex)?

Thanks!

You're right, the SMC can not defensive fire (since he has no weapons and no FP), but he may accept CC where he will attack and defend with 1 FP.

As for D1F versus the moving unit, it can be snap-shot-ed against before it reaches the SMC. Except that a snapshot cannot originate from within the Location being entered. Regular - non-Snap Shot - D1F can be made at the moving unit in the entered hex before any ensuing CC.

Per A4.151, the SMC *may* attack, but need not in the first option.

Per A4.152, the CC attack is conducted *after* DFF. Snapshot is one option but normal DFF that breaks the enemy unit will also save the SMC's bacon. The DFF need not come from the SMC.
