I'm currently reading "In Dedly Combat", a memoir of a German officer named Bidermann who served in the 132nd division in Russian. Very exciting read! Bidermann was in charge of a Pak unit, and saw action both in the Crimea campaign and the Lennigrad front. A lot of battles are covered in personal, intense detail. Very lucid and insightful on the daily life of a frontline landser.---It's like Sajer on steriods. Bidermann wrote the memoir privately after the war, and only recently has it been published after being translated by Derek S. Zumbro. It's gotten good reviews from David Glantz. In any case, I think it's a must read for any one interested in the Eastern front battles.
