Last scenario I played where a large number of trucks had anything worthwhile to do was Hube's Pocket, and only because they were required to enter in convoy....

The problem is that MMP inexplicably refuses to add a new truck counter for the German OOB: the light truck (Krupp Protze and equivalents -- including a smaller version of the Blitz). The Germans sure did have a lot of Opel Blitz trucks and did use them everywhere and for all sorts of purposes. It wasn't the only truck type that they used, however, and the light trucks would serve admirably in many situations where the ASL scenario designer is currently forced to use the Blitz.

People scrabble around looking for new and exotic German tanks to add to the system (because apparently we can never have enough different German tanks) but this is the true "missing vehicle" that we actually need.

At least for scenarios set after France 1940, the German OOB can be expanded by adding in French light trucks.

I think we should better account for the types of horses Germans used, and modify wagon movement and possibly their PP, based on the breed and status of condition during the war/theatre/time frame. The Germans used wagons far more... ;) And of course the counter art could reflect all this...look a Rheinland saar horse!

No problem, Lone Canuck has the counters and vehicle notes in the Blitzkrieg in the West pack

I posted the strength report of 65th Infantry Division in Italy in an earlier thread here - they had a modest number of trucks, a small quantity of Rauppenschlepper Ost for gun tractors, and literally thousands of horses - each platoon in theory (of the six infantry battalions) had its own horse cart. As you point out, the Germans did have a variety of these on all three fronts - from Russian ponies to Belgian draft animals.

It's not the like the Canadian Military Pattern truck was ever depicted by AH or MMP either. But since it was a 15-cwt truck that only carried stuff like sleeping gear for an infantry platoon, and was probably never used for troop lift - you wouldn't really need them. The decision was made to have representative types of each class - a rather sane decision given their almost nil impact at the tactical level.

Does anyone know if Hutch has been able to update the Armory Page (CH N) yet?

I would love to know how many Opel Blitz vehicles come in this new version of CdG/Dinant HASL.

He has updated it. 46 in CdG2. Add that to the current 6, gives you one for every week of the year.
