Using Baldur's Gate II, Icewind Dale 2 and Temple of Elemental Evil as examples (I have those) can anyone mention other titles where the game mode, the look the style of play the software tech level are all similar?

I don't mind going back one or two years, I am not interested in rich 3d graphics though, keep it looking like the above mentioned games.

Have I missed any titles I want to know about?

Also have Icewind Dale 1 and Heart of Winter.

But didn't recall the other two till you mentioned them.

Fallout 1 and 2 are in the same general ballpark. Style of play is a bit different, but those two are just way too damned good to ignore.

anything by Black Isle Studios - Planescape: Torment being the best one not mentioned so far; though it's probably the best RPG they ever produced despite the popularity of the Fallout series.

Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity.

I`ve played a bit of Divine Divinity, but not tried the follow up. Very similiar to those games mentioned already.

Arcanum also from the defunct Troika who did 'Temple of Elemental Evil' you mentioned earlier. Arcanum used a similar skill building to that of the fallout games.
