How do you track the progress?

Hi

How do you track the development of the situation and the progress of the situation while playing?
Do you sit there and track what's being scrolled out in the message window? If so at what detail level?
Or maybe you go and drink a coffee and then look at the situation after a turn is resolved? If so, is there a way to make the message window don't pop-up while the TU/POA2 is in the background?

I am not sure if you mean just following the Action reports given by your subordinate commands. That is mostly how I do it.. issue commands to the senior units, and let the commands cycle down below them, and follow it , FOW and all, from the reports that your subordinates send back.. which sometimes are confusing (just as they often would be in real life).. sometimes have to put a few together to get a true glimpse of the situation... but it lets me immerse myself in it. So yes, sometimes it really is, go get a coffee, come back, etc.
