Not quite. It's more like getting the Sears Christmas Wishbook (catalog) in spring. Europeans might not understand this analogy

One of many things that I do not understand is why is there overlays in HL but not in CdG. Had there been any in CdG would have had all the overlays, now I will have to buy the overlay bundle for just those missing in the new CdG.
Very much looking forward to HL.

One of many things that I do not understand is why is there overlays in HL but not in CdG. Had there been any in CdG would have had all the overlays, now I will have to buy the overlay bundle for just those missing in the new CdG.
Very much looking forward to HL.

One wonders, is there a plan to de-overlay the core modules and have the Overlay Bundle as a quicly reprintable item?

The reason the Italian module gets overlays is that Chapter F is the desert rules chapter. The French module did not introduce any major terrain types.
I am divided on ordering the overlay pack {if offered this year} as after getting 2d or 3d editions of all the core modules, have most of the overlays.
I'm sure there are a few lone wolf overlays in the system, but I'm fully current on overlays.

Anyone out there used the E1 overlay? Just wondering why make a new board based on it? I only know a couple of scenario that use this overlay.
Maybe someone planning a few scenarios using it?

I think/guessing the two main reasons are/were:
a) it's a hassle to use the ovelay, and
b) printing a full map (SK style) as opposed to printing a large overlay (it's not a full board, but at least 50-75%) doesn't differ all that much in cost.

That's what I though. I don't think I have ever played a scenario on board 25 or used this overlay before that's why I asked.
I think there is a river overlay that's board sized too. I wonder if it may get replaced too?

The board 25 escarpment overlay is specific to board 25.
The river overlay is not linked to a specific board.

I agree. In addition, the Escarpment overlays from WoA that I saw were all ever so slightly too big. They were ok close to Row Q, but the farther away that Row, the overlay was noticeably offset. It makes more sense just to print the whole board.
