Stalingrad Orchard Road.JPG

"Orchard Road" The area here is almost like a garden, I have added what may be close to it.

Stalingrad debris square 2.JPG

This is the area of greatest "difference". Here there are 2 very high buildings plus an adjacent missing building. Also the AA25 building has a strange arrangement of
walled plus debris like inner area. The building itself is unaffected.. A real headache !!

Stalingrad roofed factory.JPG

Here it depends a bit on date but it seems more likely that somehow the main factories still had roofs. Also a central factory is the highest . Stuka's will take care of this :pP

Stalingrad lower factory.JPG

The factory early on had NO roof in the centre and the central area was open. The black bar area was only lengthwise which is in fact seemingly two enclosed buildings.

The main issue apart from the different heights ( of factories and some buildings)is how to treat the factories when they are inevitably rubbled. If one chooses the destroyed part to be rubble then it seems they should be rally terrain given the fanatic fighting here. This area is the one where will have to reach some consensus.

This is based on a aerial photo earlier than 17th October ( perhaps mid August) so it is like a "time capture".

This is more pro Russian than the normal RB as:

more buildings have roofs
there is higher buildings ( more FP)
LOS in the central and Volga side has more height so that German movement will be further hampered - needing either smoke or OBA. However more easy for OBA to "see".

For German:

S33 factory is a much easier nut to crack

If the Russian decide to use the ol' FG in an uber building trick there may be greater opportunity for the
German to isolate the area. Also there will be more "island areas" where individual building to building fights will be fought
especially between W and CC.

Anyways this is what it looked like then and it would be interesting to know what other people think.

It goes without saying that this will be a "new" tougher game and some higher German CCP may be envisaged (15- 25%)....

I have to disagree with you that the Q34 factory never had a central roof. You can see what it looks like here (upper-right):

I believe all the Stalingrad factories (at least the tractor works) were built under contract by Albert Kahn of Detroit so the plans most likely still exist in his archives if you want to know the specifics and not guess from aerials.
