I use Plano 3600 (Infantry), 3700 (Armor), 3701 (Informational).
Yes, they are larger, but great for home use. They multiply like rabbits though.

Although it seems crazy, I played someone who had all his infantry in one box sorted by E, Square E, Circle E etc.
It was surprisingly easy to pick out the correct squad since you just looked for the right colour.
I know a guy, whose storage system was even more straightforward than that:
He stored EVERY counter in one box.

Finding the right color of a counter was indeed easy. And he was always the first through packing up his counters upon the conclusion of the game.

I have all of my counters in Plano 3701s.

DM me if you would like the storage listings for each nationality.

I don't need a sorting scheme myself, but I am curious how you sorted the British/Commonwealth vehicles. Seems that no matter how I do it, I end up with either multiple plano pockets overflowing for one category or a plano that has 1-3 counters in each pocket.

An ASL opponent told me decades ago "everyone's ASL counter storage system is stupid except your own." The more I play, the more I think he was right. Pick what makes you happy. Sort vehicles by movement points? You go, guy. Sort by barrel bore? You go, guy. Sort by counter ID letter? You go, guy.

Zeke "although decades later I do wonder if I would have been happier sorting vehicles by Chapter H note numbers" Crater

You have to develop a system that works for you. It doesn't have to work for anyone else.

For vehicles and ordnance, I went denser than with infantry. The reason? You only access the vehicle/ordnance container pre-game. It's not like your PzIV takes a couple of hits and suddenly becomes a PzIII.

Send me a message and I'll shoot you what I have. Here are a couple of pics:

Git rid of those monster space munching trays...
They make them 1/2 as deep and you'll be able to store far more counters in the same or smaller footprint.

Context? I'm assuming you're talking about 3700s. Do they make something thinner than a 3701?

Entire British vehicle park fits comfortably in three box box. One of them shown here next to the "pocket" Chapter H for scale.

I like the size (height, number of boxes) of Box Box, and I got two to try ‘em out a while agom. But the straight sides made it difficult to “finger grab” counters. I stayed with my 3701s.

I'm reminded of the efforts put into aerating certain foodstuffs so that less product occupies the space inside the package. The opposite of an MRE.

Ask and ye shall receive. Here's a shot of the armored car tray. For this pick, I tucked the lid underneath to show where it goes during play (out of the way). Speaking of lids, that reminds me. I recently flipped one of these trays, with the lid on, by accident. It did a 360 off a chair and unto the floor. But the lid held tight and all the contents remained in their proper pockets.

My Brits fit in less than 1/2 of a Racco tray. This is because I am printing my own inserts and able to compress the space pretty hard. I have the Brits, Allied Minors, and UN Forces from FW in a tray with plenty of room for expansion. My Germans used to fill a whole tray. Now my Germans, IJA, and Chinese are in one box with room to add some mix of 200+ 5/8" and 300+ 1/2" counters. What used to fill 10 trays now only takes 7 and that's because I don't want to collapse more aggressively. If I did, I would bet I could get down to everything in 4 trays. I just think that would be too fiddly. -- jim

I've got some dense advice on how to collapse your vehicles more agressively. I reckon, what you would bet to get into 4 trays, could be "pocketed" in your pants:

Touche' You are evidently a much better better counter sorter than I am.

Just looking at what I can see of your various bin contents, how do you decide what goes into what bin? The rhyme or reason is eluding me. Forgive me. I am slow & sullen, yet dull.
