Help with ADC2

I just got both POA2 and ADC2, so I thought I would try out Don's map tutorial.

But I dont have the same menues that he refers to?????

I have downloaded the 2.15 patch from HPS and instaled it. But when I look at the help-about menu it says version 2.12????

Could someone send me the 2.16 files? Or the working 2.15 files?

Or tell me what Im doing wrong... :eek:

Hey Red,
Try extracting the files into a seperate directory and copying them into the ADC2 directory... of course you will want to overwrite the existing files with the newer ones. If that fails, I can email them to you later on today, just pm your address to me.

I finaly was able to "scan" a BMP map in the Map/board module. But Im unable to draw anything on it, even hexes???

All the dialog boxes says "empty." When using the "no BMP metod" from Don's tutorial, everything seems fine.

Anyone?????????

The tutorial isn't written for the purpose of creating image-based maps like the ones included with the game. That is a very different process and requires a different technique. Has anyone here actually tried it?

I know, it was just to let people know that I actualy had the slightest idea of what I was doing ;) :)

I have tried it but have not gotton it to work from the point of actually having a map to edit.
I can get it to import but that's about it.

I've been able to import a map to edit(from POA2), made some changes(in ADC), saved it in POA2 - then it doesn't open up in the game.

I then went to TOP2 & PITS and marveled that mapmaker worked so well so many years ago.

Sorry, I have deleted it, and am now working on a map with Don's method ;)

Im working with the ADC engine while waiting for you betas to work out the problems with the POA engine... :)

Or did you mean an scanned ADC file previously a BMP, but now a .map file?

Hi Red, thanx for the map. Its very good in bmp format. But its a b.... to convert to something ADC2 can use. How goes it for you?

Development is slow due to limited time :)

Wife and twins get prioritised as usual.

But Im getting the hang of it. ADC aint difficult but rather tricky and time consuming. Everything have to be done in the right order, and there is little place for errors. If you forget something you often will have to erase a lot of work to correct your initial misstake.

ATM Im doing it Don's way. I have given up the topos... :cry:

But I sure wouldnt hold my breath waiting for me to post my first POA2 map :eek:

I know all about the twins "thing"...got a couple of girls, 3 years old. So life is starting again.

Yes I'm close to let the "real" map go, beacuse I keep getting errors about the size is bigger than the max allowed.

I'm like you started on making maps the "Don way". Its a little easier.

Just wanted to check in and ask if anyone has gotton a nmp map to sucesfully import into POA2.
I really want to get a SADR CITY map setup with the new terrorist and guerilla units, but I can't seem to get ADC to make an importable map into POA2
