Title says it all.

Has anyone played this?

The MMP Blood Reef: Tarawa does not seem to be available, at any price, on ebay.

The pictures on Desperation Morale sure do look nice.

Nope have not played it or bought it. Why would I want to go through the pain of trying to fit a bunch of panal maps together? On the other hand, many people that buy overpriced stuff from CH are mainly collectors.

Thank you for your reply.
So, nobody actually plays the CH stuff - collectors just buy, admire, put on the shelf, and buy some more?
The pictures of the entire Betio map on Desperation Morale sure do look good...

The map panels are annoying. But I would put up with them if I really wanted to play something on them. Not played any of CH Tarawa stuff, but I did buy it. The monster scenario looks fun.

I suspect anyone interested might have learned from the Omaha East experience, why pay outrageous prices like that had when it was first released (200+ IIRC) when in several years it will be likely reprinted and priced much more reasonably (70-80). I loved the MMP Tarawa HASL, and I'd love to try to the CH one and see how they did with it, but not at that price, No way man...

First off, when it first came out it was $200.00 less 30% is $140.00 so it wasn't so bad for the size of it and all you get but I did complain to Ray about the price and he gave me a 50% discount so it only cost me $100.00 less 30% which was $70.00. What a deal!
Second, all the scenarios play on one or two map panels so the complaint of having to put a bunch of panels together is false. The only time you have to put all the panels together is when you play the CG. I looked at it and it is sweet. I haven't played around with it yet because we are moving soon when we sell the house and all my stuff is and has been packed up for a long time. You do get the whole map not one missing the tail end, 9 and a half counter sheets, 9 regular scenarios and one huge CG, and 8 pages of rules. The map has been made for vasl so you could have it printed out in one large piece if that's your problem.
mi80j must be on drugs. Honza said he bought it right before mi80j posted. I bought it and many others have. What do you expect from the Socialist State of N.Y. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think most of the people who bought CH version of Tarawa are either solitaire players and / or completists / collectors.

unfortunately a far cry from the nearly 300 dollars CH is asking for it today. I missed out on the preorder so I'll just wait for the inevitable, but always appreciated, reprints/updates. Perhaps when they do they will have got over the notion of those GOD awful variant counter colors (especially the Oive Drab Americans). Urrgg.

As far as the map panels. Maybe took an hour to set up the almost 20 or so map panels that made up the combined Omaha. Zero problems once set up with using plexi and strategic applications of some double sided tape, and an hour is hardly wasted when those long term mega scenario/CG's are played and for shorter or smaller ones?. The maps panels really show their worth per se. When only a portion of the overall area, it is much better to only have to set up a few panels rather than have the whole maps and their unused areas. I suppose many do not like them. My father DETESTED them, and was quite upfront with Tapio about that, but I have to admit. I like them. Much more durable than the old paper maps for sure, and I've found them easier to store.

and yeah I'm not sure of mi80j is on drugs, but he might be reminded that what he sees on this forum represents a mere faction of the ASL playing world.

I knew this would bring all the CH sockpuppets out...
it worked!
Thanks for the entertainment, guy... while you have improved them, your sockpuppet skills still have a way to go...
your phrasing still gives it away, way too often!
Thanks for playing!

If you think all CH is sh*t, you are truly missing out on some outstanding scenarios.

There is no CG in CH's Tarawa.
If you see a CG in CH's Tarawa, the only one on drugs must be you.
But, as I mentioned earlier, thank you for playing!
(And, for playing yourself!)

I do not.
I invite you to share your top five CH scenarios for me to check out.
Thanks in advance!

I guess you may be right about that. It's just a huge 75 turn scenario using the whole map. You must have came down off your high for a moment!

Well, I like those Olive Drab counters better then the bright green ones. But that's me. I can't wait to get the new 101st, 82nd, and US Marine OD counter sets! Even better are the Russian Army "Red" counters against the Black SS. That's cool. Admit it.

lmao. I like you man. You've got guts admitting to liking those things.

I suppose I'm not a fan of the variant colors. I passed on all the variants except for one. Took a flier on the mustard Japanese and I think I actually like those, even better than the official counters. Strangely enough though no white Finns yet. I would have thought that would have been first out of the gate in terms of variant nationality colors. Though I must admit my kinky meter pegged upwards at the notion of a Red v. Black Berlin playing with some B.O.C. in the background (2nd album of course) bouncing the counters (and my beer) on the gaming table
