First off, when it first came out it was $200.00 less 30% is $140.00 so it wasn't so bad for the size of it and all you get but I did complain to Ray about the price and he gave me a 50% discount so it only cost me $100.00 less 30% which was $70.00. What a deal!
Second, all the scenarios play on one or two map panels so the complaint of having to put a bunch of panels together is false. The only time you have to put all the panels together is when you play the CG. I looked at it and it is sweet. I haven't played around with it yet because we are moving soon when we sell the house and all my stuff is and has been packed up for a long time. You do get the whole map not one missing the tail end, 9 and a half counter sheets, 9 regular scenarios and one huge CG, and 8 pages of rules. The map has been made for vasl so you could have it printed out in one large piece if that's your problem.
mi80j must be on drugs. Honza said he bought it right before mi80j posted. I bought it and many others have. What do you expect from the Socialist State of N.Y. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
unfortunately a far cry from the nearly 300 dollars CH is asking for it today. I missed out on the preorder so I'll just wait for the inevitable, but always appreciated, reprints/updates. Perhaps when they do they will have got over the notion of those GOD awful variant counter colors (especially the Oive Drab Americans). Urrgg.
As far as the map panels. Maybe took an hour to set up the almost 20 or so map panels that made up the combined Omaha. Zero problems once set up with using plexi and strategic applications of some double sided tape, and an hour is hardly wasted when those long term mega scenario/CG's are played and for shorter or smaller ones?. The maps panels really show their worth per se. When only a portion of the overall area, it is much better to only have to set up a few panels rather than have the whole maps and their unused areas. I suppose many do not like them. My father DETESTED them, and was quite upfront with Tapio about that, but I have to admit. I like them. Much more durable than the old paper maps for sure, and I've found them easier to store.
and yeah I'm not sure of mi80j is on drugs, but he might be reminded that what he sees on this forum represents a mere faction of the ASL playing world.
