I have Harpoon3 on my PC, and with the help of MS Access 2003 (plus earlier programs) I've been able to develop various weapon/facility/unit systems that can be used with the game. They work well on my computer---but I wasn't sure if they will work on others. Also, when I see what other Harpooners have accomplished, and I thought mine would pale in comparison.
But, at the urging of one Harpoon-er, I will start sharing what I have.

I begin with this HCF file---it has a number of SSMs based on the Harpoon missile. Once again, this files are bases on the H3 variant of the game. I hope this the file works on other PCs: if not, let me know. In fact---let me know if they DO work---I have some others to show!

PS---I had to put the HCF into a Zip File for it to uplaod here...

Thanks for sharing your hypothetical next-generation of SSMs and SLCMs.

I'm sure that some of the editors with hypothetical units / weapons in their databases will take notice. Tony Eischens recently release his Harpoon Classic Fictional Database so he will probably benefit greatly.

We're talking about this on the HG mIRC chat room right now, if anyone cares to join us. :)

Thanx for your comments, Herm.

I realized something---how silly of me! What good is it to share missiles alone and withhold the platforms to launch them? After all, missiles need mounts, sensors, and a unit from which launch, no?

So I seek to correct that now. Here is a set of ships I designed to launch the missiles. I understand that sharing a ship means sharing eveything associated with the ship---its sensors, fuel capacity, mounts, magazines, weapons and record, propulsion....everything. Or so I hope!

The *.hcf suffix is a file format for use by Harpoon3 editors using Jon Reimer's Microsoft Access utility program. It is a small file of exported platforms.

What I would recommend to use it would be:

1) start up a blank database with the Harpoon3 DB editor by Jon Reimer.
2) Open up the Weapons / Ship annex
3) Import the appropriate [Weapons / Ship].hcf file
4) inspect and view them

The database editor menu commands would be:
Harpoon --> Import --> HCF File

Perhaps, in the future, dwinston might also post some of the information in a format that doesn't require someone to have knowledge of how to use the Harpoon 3 database editor.

Here is a quick list of the ships and Missiles that dwinston has posted. Unfortunately, to fully understand his list, you would need to know how to use the Harpoon Database editor as many details are lost by this simple list.
