I must be getting old, b/c I thought the halftime show was ridiculous. I'm tired of so called "stars" who haven't been getting enough attention lately thinking they have to :+: shock :+: ppl. For example: britney sucking tounge w/ that nasy ho Madonna and then getting 'married' for half hour. Give me a break  Those ppl are absolutely insane. They have completely lost their minds. Now Timberlake/Janet "right teat" Jackson bumping and grinding in front of millions of young children. Pathetic. Why is it that today's pop stars have no class whatsoever? Is it no longer popular to show that you've got style and grace?

Damb I sound like my parents

Oh well, I want to point out that Beyonce Knowles did a great job singing the national anthem, since she isn't likely to be getting much attention. heheh, actually her performance was the most :+: shocking :+: of all since she didn't grope or expose herself.

I do not agree with most of what you are saying here. My problem is that none of these people, except Nelly and possibly Timberlake, are relevant NOW. You'd think someone who has a new album would want to do halftime.

OH Please! I was watching and did not even notice until they made a big deal out of it AFTER the SuperBowl. No kid in the stand could possibly see, even if they were watching and it did not make it onto TV as far as I saw.

Dude, I am not talking about her age or his age or the dancing. I think the whole halftime show was filled with adult situations and language. I was mildly surprised but it is no big deal. Even if a million kids saw a nipple I doubt they will be ruined for life.

I don't wanna be too critical of Janet. I remember when she was pretty chubby and at one point in her life she took control and restricted her eating. She's kept the weight off a long time too. I relate and respect her for that.

This was broadcast to millions of viewers last night. Pretty funny, but clearly a publicity stunt.
Linky

MTV will never be asked to do another lame half-time show again. Thank god.

I don't watch the halftime shows anymore because they'll never play my favorite bands. I wish they'd realize that some people don't like rap. Also in the incidence with Janet, a friend of mine after he saw it, 20 minutes later he found a tape of it on the internet. wow, some twisted little porn freak out there has to tape live shows in hopes of nudity. that's pathetic.

CBS: Parents Must Protect Kids from Football Violence

(2004-02-02) -- Executives at Viacom, the parent company of CBS and MTV, this morning reacted with surprise at complaints about partial nudity, off-color commercials and flag desecration during the halftime show of last night's Super Bowl.

"We produce age-appropriate programming," said an unnamed Viacom spokesman. "Parents must protect their children from violent sports. That's why we broadcast the Super Bowl early Sunday evening, when most children will be at church services or working on homework and getting to bed early. What kind of parents allow their kids to stay up after 8 p.m. on a school night to view violent sports?"

The CBS-MTV production included...
-- Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson groping each other and simulating sexual activity, topped off by Mr. Timberlake ripping Ms. Jackson's outfit to reveal her breast.
-- Performing artist 'Kid Rock' wearing an American flag with a hole in it as a poncho
-- Rapper 'Nelly' gripping his crotch through most of his performance
-- Two commercials depicting damage to men's groins
-- a car commercial where children express awe using an interjection which combines the sacred with the scatalogical
-- at least two commercials for medicine to treat male sexual dysfunction
-- a beer commercial featuring flaming equine flatulence
-- a program promo where a young boy expresses awe at seeing a woman in red, lacy underpants.

The spokesman said Viacom will devote several million dollars of broadcast time this year to public service announcements urging parents to protect their children from "the devastating effects of viewing violent sports."

If we're going to forget about traditional, solemn handling off the US flag, I guess I'd be ok to fold it unto a rat-tail and use it to put a few welts on Kid Rock's azz.

Janet Jackson Intentionally Exposes Herself Unintentionally

By The Chortler

CBS expressed regret this morning for deliberately airing a segment of its Super Bowl half-time show in which Justin Timberlake deliberately rips off fellow pop star Janet Jackson's bustier accidentally.

Executives at the network were quick to show their dismay at the unintended display of nudity which they had been preparing to show for a long time.

"There is no excuse for this to happen, especially since we have been planning for it to happen for months," said CBS President Les Moonves.

"I want to apologize for this inadvertent incident -- which we have worked out to the most minute detail -- for going exactly the way we expected," Moonves added.

CBS officials vowed that such a well-calculated mistake would never not occur again, perhaps.

LOL. I agree 11b10. Chicken even has to admit it got the reaction they wanted from him.

All publicity. It is like the Brit-kiss, if the press did not over cover this thing or never covered it I would never even know about it. But they do and that is all people can talk about.

Jackson Outfit Reconstructed After 'Malfunction'

(2004-02-03) -- Theatrical garment forensics experts from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) worked through the night, in an airplane hangar near Houston, to reconstruct Janet Jackson's Super Bowl halftime show costume which suffered a sudden "wardrobe malfunction" Sunday night.

The unexpected, unplanned, accidental event which exposed part of Ms. Jackson's upper torso to 99 million American television viewers has sparked an FCC investigation which could result in millions of dollars in fines and new government regulations on the structural integrity of television costumes.

"We should have a full report from the task force in about 10 months," said FCC Chairman Michael Powell. "Until our forensics team completes its preliminary investigation, this case is officially a UGF -- unexplained garment failure. Now that a federal agency is investigating this incident, the American people can feel safe knowing that their taxpayer dollars are invested well."
