Hello All,

In Hakkaa Paalle there are several VCA/TCA Counters with a small flash containing a 1 on both the BU and CE sides.

What rule/vehicles does this apply to?

Regards,

Raphael

Isn't this for double turreted vehicles? There should be the same with a 2 instead of the 1, IIRC.

HP has S TCA and P TCA turret markers, but no flashes on them.

OK so maybe to be used as gunflash markers? I haven't checked the HP counters, I admit.

I think that Russian Vehicle note P (searchlights) includes the rules for those counters, which were included in Hakkaa Päälle.
Ah yes, that must be it.

Seems to only apply to the Russian T-26 M32 and OT-26.

Now if someone would put out a list of British, German and American AFVs with searchlights to take advantage of that particular rule.

Way bitd, I assembled a M4 model and I dimly recall a searchlight on it. Just got the Osprey book "Allied Armor in Normandy" and the artwork for
Cromwells shows a searchlight. We need an authority on AFVs to research this and post this on-line (any takers?).

There are searchlights and then there are SEARCHLIGHTS. A lot of vehicles had small-ish "spotlights" on them, but I don't know that I'd equate them with full-blown searchlights.

If I'm recalling correctly, Russian MAVN 'P' deals with AFV searchlights, not the monster searchlights in "Forgotten War".
That is why a proper list of British, German and American AFVs that have searchlights is needed.

The Canal Defence Light (CDL) was a British "secret weapon" of the Second World War, based upon the use of a powerful carbon-arc searchlight mounted on a tank. It was intended to be used during night-time attacks, when the light would allow enemy positions to be targeted. A secondary use of the light would be to dazzle and disorient enemy troops, making it harder for them to return fire accurately. The name Canal Defence Light was used to conceal the device's true purpose. For the same reason, in US service they were designated T10 Shop Tractor.[1]
