I think the most costly book I purchased for researching this project came from a publisher in Great Britain.....the history, TO&E, and other details for the 1st Cavalry Division from 1940 - 1945. Price was around $125 if I recall.
In Osprey's book on US Cavalry in WWII PTO, it is mentioned that they were still holding the cavalry weapons of Thompson SMGs and
M1 carbines in high favor (along with .45 sidearms being common among the enlisted ranks). Is this enough to warrant use of 7-4-7s ( without underlined ML nor assault fire.)
