Re: The King is Back!

Jeez... totally crap until the very end. What the hell kinda roar is that!?!
I liked it. :p It is like a combination of a scream mixed with a animalistic roar at the end. Since this movie seems to be going for a dark, horror movie like tone (please be true...please be true...) I thought what they came up with works well.

And I agree with the music! That is a must-have, even if they "adapt it" a bit so it isn't just a complete copy (which they probably will - they rarely just use old assets on a new reboot). Great song. For some reason I always hear that in the back of my head when I approach an open buffet table....

The only time Godzilla would come close to making that kinda roar was if another monster of, by a miracle of god, humans were kicking the crap outta him, would he make a high pitched screech. The end of it is all classic Godzillza but that whole...thing leading up to it. Nope.

And totally agreed! I would just love to hear it! And lmao! I have it as my ringtone.

Re: The King is Back!

Stumbled across this article. Thought it was funny and interesting:

The Science of Godzilla

Still, what would happen if a 100-meter tall “dinosaur” stepped out of the sea and went on a rampage? I predict it would be a very short rampage. Short as in milliseconds.
Interesting stuff.

Something tells me this movie is going to be...wait for it...huge! :clown: I've never seen so many adult men break down with tears of joy before. :D Here comes the marketing blitz!

As I just wrote on Facebook, I watched this version last night. I haven't seen the original Godzilla in decades, & I have never seen the original uncut Japanese version before. I am happy to say I really enjoyed it! The Japanese versions struck me as much more somber than what I recalled of the American Raymond Burr version. Very good! A classic!

Highly recommended!

#‎SXSW‬ attendees, don't forget to join us on Tuesday, March 11th, for a special screening of the original Japanese ‪#‎Godzilla‬ classic from 1954, followed by a Q&A with Godzilla (2014) director Gareth Edwards. Details here: http://bit.ly/godzillaSXSW

Re: The King is Back!

The only ones I liked were the original and Godzilla 1985. That movie s pcared the **** out of me when I was a kid! Godzilla was so menacing. he was definitely evil incarnate in that movie.

Kind of a funny turn of events: My mom would rent for me these cheap Japanese movies about kindly super robots helping humanity. I never got into the giant monsters as good guys though. I think even at age five I looked at robots as good and monsters as bad. It probably was because our older brothers would always scare us with bear stories or they'd show us the horror of a mountain lion den.

Re: The King is Back!

Saw it the day it released. Loved the crap outta it.... despite a few head scratching moments. It was awesome to see him on screen, kicking tons of monster booty.
