a) Where is that?A village board like this would be AWESOME.(and I have a scenario, or two that are ready!!)
Transylvania.a) Where is that?
b) Would the main roads be considered Narrow Streets?
Viscri, Romania. Taken from the west.Transylvania.
But it’s also very much like towns in NW Germany.
A main road through the village(not a narrow street), but the offshoot streets would be.
Very interesting. I'm not sure I like the level -1 color with the desert level 0, it seems jarring. Maybe a darker level 0 color although it would take some work to differentiate it from hill colors. Also, what are the bright green bits among the buioldings intended to be?Some ideas submitted to [redacted]! some 6+ years ago.

If you ask me, that is board 48 & SSR: "All Grain is Woods (or Orchards)."A village board like this would be AWESOME.(and I have a scenario, or two that are ready!!)
See Steve Swann's thread Designer's Challenge. Seven new Arid maps. None shown, but they're very niceWe need more desert boards.
Yeah...If you ask me, that is board 48 & SSR: "All Grain is Woods (or Orchards)."

Very cool, thanks Chris.Transylvania.

Alan - simply amazing.
Great idea! Sketch up a map depicting Paradise Cove, CA (where the infamous Fonzi scene was filmed) and we can design a hypothetical beach assault scenario using it! We'll need SSRs for Great White Sharks, water skiing and leather jackets.I think we've jumped the shark.... sigh
Agreed. Bd 67 kind of did that, but might be a bit too 'crowded'A
A board looking like board FrFA because it's a pretty good one
Yes more of these 'transition' boards would be useful.A board that transfers from country side to town/city terrain... Board 49 like
board 61 re-imagined as 'Fort' style!!I think so.
The normal geo-boards (even if you butt them together) tend to array the terrain - especially hill masses - either at 0° or 90°. As they are only 10 hexes wide each, this is probably mainly due to the physical limitations of the boards. Bd18 is an exception insofar the line of ridges of the hills is running diagonally across the board. However, these hills are very small and only level 1. Not much more can be done on a board that is only 10 hexes wide in this regard.
The Fort board dimensions offer 16 hexes for the purpose. Something like this very roughly - disregard the "real" 4a terrain:
