I'm digging out my Japanese units to play OWT and noticed that I
have 2 different types of 1st Line HS's. They look identical on the front,
but on the rear one type has a broken ML of 6 (and a BPV of 4) and the
other has a broken ML of 7 (and a BPV of 6). The illustration for
G1.2 shows that the broken ML of 7 appears to be correct. Then
what/where are the others from/for?

I have never noticed that, until reading your post. I just checked, so far I can tell that they did not come from Tarawa. So it has to be CoB or OW. But so far I cannot find it. And it is not listed on any countersheet errata I find.

I'll be darned the 6 morale units are "replacement counters" from Journal 2. The errata counters were wrong!! They should all be 7 morale.

Hi,

From the excellent chapter N found at ASLWebDex:

Journal 2 2-3-7 10 a-j - Japanese Should have "7" morale and "6" BPV vice "6" morale and "4" BPV
So yes, the ML 6 counters are incorrect and from the Journal 2 sheet.

The First Line Japanese Squads from Journal #2, were not replacement counters. They were for the Kakazu Ridge Mini-CG in the same journal. Check out my updated Chapter N at aslwebdex.net
