My statement stands. :D

To be fair, I don't think B&J much exceeds anything else they've done if you consider value/$.

For the cost of B&J (within $10), you can have ITR, BtB2 and Op Cobra. More or less a push, IMO.
Well, as a PTO person, I would have to say its far from a push for me. I have played one ITR scenario and none from BrB2 or Op Cobra. But I have played 8-10 B&J scenarios (and still want to play more). I thought the components from all the releases to be great! But scenarios wise, nothing from BtB2 nor Cobra really stuck out for me (though I do like the look of a couple more from ITR). If a product is going to have a boat load of scenarios, than IMHO there needs to be lots of diversity. B&J delivers on that. What I worry about the new module is scenarios that start to blend together.

Peace

Other than not being "a PTO person", I agree with practically everything said here. I bought BtB2/Cobra, and the quality is unmistakably there, but there are very few scenarios that really stick out for me. The money that I spent on them could have gone to B&J or ITR instead.

I expect that the new module is likely to be too much of one thing to be worth it for me. But then, I'm very low on the "completionist" and "gotta have it" scales.

Fair enough. As long as you're comparing B&J along those lines and not just saying "better than Op Cobra" because, well, it should be for three times the price!

Again, I'm not criticizing any of BFPs products. I have all of them, have enjoyed things from all of them. Maybe it's because I'm not a big PTO person that I see it differently than you. I like PTO well enough, but it doesn't get me all hot and bothered. Kursk does. Hence, my very high expections for Crucible of Steel.

As for running together, I just filtered my play list by "Chas Smith" and found 18 scenarios I've played. I remembered them all, only one unfavorably. I can't say that of many designers (either that I've played that many or they're all that memorable/good).

Gents I can assure you that there will be a lot of diversity in the package. Combined arms, infantry only, armor only. Something for everyone. I've play tested a significant number of the scenarios, in between working on designs for the other packs coming down the road, and I can tell you that there has not been a snoozer or barker in the bunch. Your mileage will of course vary, but I'm hoping you find it to be close to mine <G>

It not that I am not looking forward to it, as I am. But I must admit, B&J set the bar high for me.........

I prefer the more sublime one word summation... wow!!!

Funny it has taken this long for someone to really dive into detail on this most famous segment of one of the wars most famous battles. I can't wait to see what you all do with it, your track record says it will be an absolute winner.
Indeed, how true. Long range tank duels over European terrain....looking forward to this one...

More good news at this point is that we are making some very good progress on the Hurtgen CG. If this continues to go well, it is possible we could release this in 2012.

The only future product that I beg/demand/require from BFP is one more B&J scenario to fill in the blank side of that one scenario card. When I'm leafing thru my B&J scenarios it reminds me of a missing tooth... very noticeable and it needs to be filled.

Other than that, I'm golden.
