Gentlemen,

I know that some of you may think that the Blood and Jungle project is too large. At one time we had pulled stuff out and determined we would do a Shanghai module on its own, KNIL module on its own, etc. However, when we attempted to pull stuff out a lot of the context of the project was lost, along with tremendous content that would be put off into the future.

With that said, the overall presentation of this project is important. We are already working on several projects just like it: Allied Minors, Axis Minors, Brit Commonwealth, East Front, USMC, etc, etc. However, as planned at this time they shouldnt be as large as B and J.

Also note that I have been wanting to do a desert/North Africa module for years. Did some boards, rough scenarios, and an article but havent fully pursued yet. Based on the Desert thread in the main forum, would guys prefer to see a Desert/NA project or attempt to have that included in something else. Maybe Brit/Commonwealth? Of course, that project would get large.

thanks,
Chas

Chas:

Very excited to hear that a desert offering might be in the works. My vote is for a stand alone desert/NA module - so much action took place there - with such a range of terrain yet currently there are so few boards and scenarios to play. I thought the desert village idea and Tuomo's corresponding map are one of the many things missing from this area of ASL.

Would love to see BFP take this on...

I think desert/NA would go together fine - open area for the desert and some more hills, open and/or with villages for Tunisia. Plenty of options there.

I would very much like to see a Desert/NA module. So much in this area has barely been touched on. Considering what BFP has done with it's other projects, I would love to see them tackle this one.

A North African project would be a great idea and breathe some life into a neglected portion of ASL. Considering what BFP has done for bocage, I think it is exciting to imagine what they could do for desert/NA.

Charge!

I think I'd like anything that BFP could throw at us. The more the merrier.

But PTO primarily because there has been such a shortage of new products for this over the last few years.

To be honest I find ALL of ASL interesting. There is no such thing as an ASL subject or product which I'd turn my back on.

edit: the products have to be of a certain standard of quality though....

Desert/NA would be nice but I would love to see more PTO stuff as someone mentioned below this has been neglected for a while. Now that we see the light at the end of the tunnel for a CoB re-print, more people may start getting into PTO especially if new stuff is coming out.

And no one does PTO better than BFP (IMHO). :smoke:

I'd love to see some life breathed into the desert arena. A great candidate would be the MEDJEZ-EL-BAB or MAJAZ AL BAB, TUNISIA battles. US, Brit, French and Germans involved. Desert city fight, with river, assault boat crossing, Spahi cavalry, Stukas, more, more, more!

I think the key to a DTO product like this would be the example of play it contained.
Chas, your BtB/Cobra product breaks the bocage rules down into topical components so they can be more easily understood.

Wadis, sun blindness, vehicular dust (and tactics using it) MP costs in DTO .. all those things in an expanded example would really , imho, be a big hit.

Another important thing would be to bring unused portions of the countermix into play. WoA and HL came with many vehicles that I'd love to see in more scenarios.

I would be more excited about those two factors, than new boards/terrain. However that would be great too, icing on the cake in a way!

I'd love a desert pack. Not too sure if the wider (non-forum) ASL community will bite though. Don't bet all your capital on this one horse.

One thing there is a shortage of is smallish tourney sized desert scenarios - most of the existing ones are pretty large. I know it personally hurts Chas to design or commission scenarios with less than a dozen AFV's and twenty squads a side, but you should have a few at least.

As an aside - very impressed with the production quality of all your stuff. Can't imagine I won't buy whatever it is that you make next.

I second the last Two posts. Desert would be way cool, but judging from your past offerings I'd buy Canadians vs baby seals, Aussies vs roos.... you get the point. Keep up the good work and I look forward to Blood & Jungle. BRK

Chas,

I would like to see a large scale Desert treatment. I believe it would have to be accompanied by an article or supplement that explains terrain, etc., akin to what you did with your most excellent Bocage magazine. I think your last product has resulted in many more ASLers playing Bocage than would otherwise have happened.

I think the same would occur with a similar treatment for Desert.

P.S. I used the green and white dice you always used at my house and walked away with something from the prize table at George's tournament.

Chas,
I hope you will include some sand and dust that we can put on our boards and in our eyes.... nothing like realism.

In regard to those dice, Mike.... I knew there was a problem with them:D

Best regards,:salute:

Thanks for the input. A desert type project will definitely receive the 'bocage' treatment.

So many projects, so little time.......

Chas,
Loved ITR and Beyond the Bocage.

Can't recall the last time I awaited a project as much as your Blood and Jungle, PTO monster.

Not interested in desert. just doesn't work for me. A dissenter of one.
