Nintendo has announced 27 Wii games and 31 Virtual Console titles that will be available in Europe before the end of December.

The console launches on December 8th for £179, bundled with Wii Sports. Other first-party titles available on the day of release include Wii Play and The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Third-party titles include Need For Speed Carbon (EA), Red Steel (Ubisoft), Call Of Duty 3 (Activision) and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Sega).

System 3, the sister label of publisher Play It, plans to release five Wii titles before the end of the year, including Gottlieb Pinball Classics, Super Fruit Fall, Impossible Mission, Leaderboard Golf and Tennis Masters.

Downloadable Virtual Console titles will hark back to Nintendo’s NES, SNES and N64 formats, as well as Sega's Mega Drive and the celebrated PC engine, Turbografx. Games include Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong, Sonic The Hedgehog and Golden Axe.

The titles will be available to download using Wii Points. NES games will cost 500 Points (€5/£3.34), Turbografx games will cost 600 Points (€6/£4), SNES and Megadrive games will cost 800 points (€8/£5.34), and N64 games will cost 1000 Points (€10/£6.68).

I'm impressed by the range of VC titles available in the first month of the Wii, although Nintendo's SNES offerings could be a bit better - loads of good Megadrive games there - ignoring Zelda and Red Steel the main Wii lineup is a little underwhelming imho

I concur - theres more titles than I can afford, it's definetly got more potential than Microsofts XBLA imho. It'd cost me over £72 to get all the VC titles i'm interested in, and thats just the first month of titles available :dead:

NES
Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda

SNES
Donkey Kong Country, F-Zero, SimCity

N64
Super Mario 64

Sega MegaDrive
Sonic the Hedgehog, Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Columns, Gunstar Heroes, Ecco the Dolphin, Toe Jam & Earl, Ristar

This will kick the crap out of xbl arcade...
I'll be going to my gf's place alot to "borrow" her broadband once i get my Wii.. lol

I can't wait for all the Zelda titles to release - thats one of the reasons I want a Wii, so I can have every Zelda game on a single system - like I bought a gamecube so I could have every Resident Evil game on the same system :D

i think it's reasonable that they don't have many n64 titles at launch. I mean i nall fairness they are a larger file size and would need more work in regaurds with button re-maping

patiance my friend..

I'm psyched at CoD3.
My mums psyched for Banjo Kazooie on N64 VC.
My grandma is psyched for Wiisports. (Not psyched, but she likes games, and she said that looks like fun.)
My cousins are all psyched for red steel.

The wii will have a nice place in my house.

(Btw Chuloopa, Necros arent emo. >=( )
