In FT314, are the Russian 6-2-8s supposed to be Engineers? The scenario introduction mentions engineer's clearing obstacles and SSR mentions engineers clearing the A-T obstacles, but no Russian engineers exist in the scenario per any SSRs. Just checking to see if the lack of engineers was an oversight. Thanks in advance.

No the 628's are not engineers, they are there to handle the DC's and FT in the russian ob. The Russian engineers were used to help facilitate the units getting closer to the finish lines without undue casualties IE creating paths through minefields and and what not further back. They were not used when the Russians acually assualted the Finnish lines and fortifications, that was done by the infantry , OBA and armor that was present.

Thanks Scott. Interesting scenario. As the attacker, I was looking for an easy way to clear the AT obstacles:)

Further to this.

SSR mentions "engineers" may clear the AT obstacles. "Engineers" is not an ASL term. Was the intention that any infantry can clear them, if not why mention that engineers (which as discussed above do not exist in this scenario).

The bridge layer can lay it's bridge over shellholes. How does this work if there are AT obstacles in the hex?

How does this work if there are mines in the hex?

Edit - I found a QA that bridges cannot be laid across mines, but how is this dealt with if the mines are hidden at the point I deploy a bridge?
